This one's all about the book (and Excess Baggage)

The eagle has landed

I know it’s been a long time cooking and you have been waiting oh-so-very patiently for the whole story of the ocean, so I am pleased to announce  that the wait is mostly over and the story is yours. I received my first copy of ‘A Dip in the Ocean’ last week and was full of smiles and tears and a little bit of befuddlement. Seeing my name on the spine of the book is a little surreal and I am really chuffed with it.

Although it doesn’t officially publish until 7th February, it seems that pre-orders via Amazon have already been shipped and lots of lovely comments have already flown my way. Happy days indeed – it has been a monster journey getting to this point but I think, like any toughie, it is worth it. So I hope you enjoy it, wherever you are in the world and whatever your relationship with the waves.  I would love to know what you think – do drop me a line or write a review online. To order via Amazon click here.

I am delighted to announce that there is going to be a German version, too – confirmed this week for publication in the spring, and a Vook (a trendy new  e-book with video excerpts) due for launch around my L2L departure date. Watch this space…

Book Launch and signings

We’re having a wee book launch in London on February 16th, from 1830 to 2030 at Daunts Bookshop, Holland Park, London. Drop me a line to let me know if you would like to join us. 100 people max, so I need to make sure we don’t overrun.

I shall be signing books in Oakham on Feb 12th at ‘Buy the Book’, 11am – 1pm. We’re currently looking at dates for Oxford and Stamford, too.

Excess Baggage, Saturday 5th Feb 10am BBC Radio 4

I am very much looking forward to joining John McCarthy and guests in the Radio 4 studio next weekend to talk about my book and salty tales. Tune in! Click here for more info.
