Good to hear that you have had a little row but not really in the direction which you wanted to. Saddenned to hear about all the rubbish and litter that you have seen. Its so sad that there is so much around wherever you walk or row.
Had a pleasant day yesterday and met Kris and Marena but the others weren’t there. We were planning to have another photo to send to you but in the end we didn;t manage it.
Do hope the wind will be in the right direction for you in the week ahead and will be thinking especially of you and the family on Thursday. Your Dad would have been so proud.
Keep smiling, you give us all at home so much pleasure just reading your blogs and listening to your phone casts.
We may not be with you on the actual water but we are in thought.
Hooray for rowing!! Any forward progress is ground (or ocean!) in the right direction!
Litter in the sea is a sad, sad state of events. I was on a transatlantic cruise in 1965 with my Mom…terrible storm – my Mom was, shall we say, indisposed (!) and I took it upon myself to open the window and lean out to watch the waves. To this day, I can remember seeing a drinking straw tumbling around in the froth and foam. (We won’t talk about the trouble I got into for being caught leaning out of that opened window!!)
I hope tomorrow brings continued opportunity for rowing and no more trash!!
hi sarah, could this rubbish be the start of the”garbage patch”caused by the tsunami?i read a really disturbing report about it and the potential effecton wildlife last year and hoped that over time the natural motion of the eas might break it up fully butmaybe not, hope you are getting plenty of rest right now
