I had read early on that Falmouth England was 3,017 miles from Chatham, Cape Cod, but that does not figure with your estimate of being 1,000 miles from Chatham tomorrow, when figuring the miles-to-go list. AMAZING – the fact that you came eye to eye with the leatherback turtle is incredible. Calls to mind a children’s novel called “The Wreck of the Zanzibar” by Michael Morpurgo, which reflects your adventure in a small way..” Laura is gentle enough to protect a sea turtle that might otherwise serve as food, and hopeful enough to dream of rowing in the island gig despite repeated declarations that a girl will never be allowed to handle one of the oars. Laura gets her chance in a dramatic storm and shipwreck, and helps save the island” Almost as good as your own tales of Adventure…. on track 🙂 x
