And a very good morning everyone!
Sarah has just completed 64 miles in the past 24h! That’s just amazing for a solo rower. Then, just minutes ago, as I sat here eating my weetabix with cold milk and honey, I got this;

LAND AHOY!LAND AHOY!LAND AHOY! STAND UP AND WAVE -MIGHT SEE YOU!!

Isnt’t that such a great way to start your day? 🙂
Sarah has started her day with a decision to ‘tack’. Then she saw land. What a feeling that must be. Her first land since Australia. You can see her course change quite clearly on the tracker. She has gained herself so much sea room on the safe side that now she is able to point exactly where she wants and not play it safe anymore. That’s called good seamanship. Sailing and clearly ocean rowing can be like a chess game. For weeks Sarah has played ahead and now she is about to win the game.
By now I expect Helen and Matt will have landed in Paradise. I hear a helicpoter fly over as I write this. I wonder if that is magic man Marcel who secured the toy for closer viewing of Sarah later? This resort does have a helipad…
Conditions have calmed down a bit. There are no more white caps on the ocean and the palm trees look straight again!
Did anyone actually sleep out there or is it just me? 🙂
More as it happens.

Five time zones east of you = nineteen hours behind you on the date clock. Sitting here in Vancouver Canada, tracking you on the hybrid map, and glad Monday 3rd Aug is a national holiday. Toenails digging holes in the carpet while bouncing back and forth between blog and map for updates every ten minutes, and weather updates every half hour. You are so on-target it’s astounding. Praying you hit the mouse-hole dead centre! Ricardo on Coast guard vessel and Marcel possibly upstairs on an egg beater, only wish I could be there on a Dolphin to lead you in! Go! Go! Go Girl! Ron 🙂
Hi Sarah,
What a thrill that must be! Full-body adrenaline rush. Whoa !
Cheers,
Currin
Pretty strong winds hitting the top North East side where i was walking a few minutes ago Sarah,beautifully fresh though, they make the palm leaves spread all in one direction, the crests out on the reef are spraying into the air,and if you lie down to watch them they make a fantastic photograph as they feather the sky line!!
Thinking of you today and wondering if you might have a space from rowing, to jot down your thoughts, this epic journey is nearly over.Love to you and Dippers.
