At 1pm this afternoon, Friday 1st April, Sarah Outen began her journey around the world.
With a huge crowd, two Royal Navy ships, and even a helicopter to see her off, she paddled underneath Tower Bridge to start her expedition to a loud fanfare.
There will be plenty more photographs, videos and news from Sarah herself in due course but in the meantime you can see some of the coverage in the media such as a BBC News article and photographs and theĀ Channel 4 piece.
Below is also a video compiled by friend and fellow adventurer Dave Cornthwaite.

Congratulations cn the start of the journey ahead.
Good luck Sarah from everyone at Accenture. We’re so excited to be a part of your two and a half year journey and will be looking forward to our first live link-up in a few weeks! Good luck with the Channel crossing……we’ll be watching online. :-)))))))))))
It was great to see you off. Good Luck from all in Rutland, especially kids from Cottesmore.
